Hola! So glad you dropped in to my estudio to see what I've been doing! I'm still painting on my two new Don Quixote pieces....the large canvas is set by the coast and today I lightly figured in Don Quixote and Sancho ~ I already have the sea painted....still doing prep work on my wooden screen though! And letting my imagination dream up what to paint on all the panels! There are three panels ~ but it will actually end up being six paintings because I'm planning on painting both sides....

I hope everyone had a fabulous day! And please take a look at my Saint Francis which is on ebay!

And here's the Artist Quote for the day: There is no must in art because art is free. -- Vasily Kandinsky

DESCRIPTION
Because this Saint is the Patron of Peace and Animals ~ St. Francis is one of my favourites! This is a great size painting and bright and lively, yet soothing, too! Gorgeous colours of turquoise, blue, purple, yellow, red and desert tan ~ will go with the colour scheme of most any casa!
Saint Francis is holding a sweet dove and two other dove are hovering close by his side. At his feet sits a beautiful red fox, a turquoise rabbit and one purple sheep. Behind him is a lovely old church with a cross on top. Lots of cacti in this painting, too!
This is a very special painting and it has such a peaceful aura about it! What a great opportunity this is for the right buyer to add to his or her collection of Mexican Folk Art! And what a perfect time to start a collection as Mexican Folk Art is quite popular now ~ and increasing in value with time.

Also, this piece has been finished with several coats of non-yellowing acrylic varnish to protect and enhance its beauty for many years to come.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The front of this painting is signed by the artist and the back is also signed, dated, and titled. By the way the artist "Romy" - that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Old Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ a few miles from Terlingua Ghost Town ~ and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)
I enjoyed the visit ~ Gracias! And, please, while you are here take a moment to View My Other Items For Sale Presently at eBay auction I have several paintings this size. I also have a variety of other sizes painted on canvas, tin, ceramic tile and wood.
