ReTaBLo~Sacred HeArT~TiN Painting~MeXiCaN FoLk ArT~RoMy-Paintings-Original-Artwork-Southwest

Hola! I'm so glad you dropped by! I worked more today on my 3-panelled wooden screen ~ still cleaning & prepping it for "Don Quixote" ~ and I also started another huge canvas painting of Don Quixote....I just can't seem to stop painting this character from Cervantes novel! Don Quixote is just such a fabulous inspiration! The canvas painting is going to have a coastal setting...
Meanwhile I'd like to share this Sacred Heart piece with you! Hope you like it!ReTaBLo~Sacred HeArT~TiN Painting~MeXiCaN FoLk ArT~RoMy

The translation for the Spanish words at the top of this lovely retablo is: "Sacred Heart." In Mexico a "milagro," which means "miracle," is a small religious charm ~ there are many types of milagros and the Sacred Heart is one of them ~ often it is representative of the desire for healing someone with a heart condition, or the desire for a miracle in the area of love. The milagros are also believed to bring prosperity and good luck.
If you will look closely, you can see there are many intricate details in this piece ~ even tiny blue crosses in the background! There are beautiful, vibrant colours in this "Sacred Heart" painting ~ turquoise-green, gold, orange, red, blue. A fabulous piece of Mexican folk art!
This painting is a must have for any collector of Southwest or Old Mexico artwork! Mexican Folk Art is very popular and increasing in value with time! And what a great addition to your collection! Or start to collect today!
