Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art ~ RoMy Original Paintings
Title: "Sleepy Mexican" Hombre
Size: Approx. 7" x 6" (painted on thin TIN ~ hole punched ~ ready to hang)
Hola! Muchos Gracias for stopping by my Terlingua Art Studio near Terlingua Ghost Town & Big Bend National Park (Texas) along the border of Old Mexico! For your consideration today I am offering this original painting with NO RESERVE:
DESCRIPTION
A whimsical painting of the little hombre ~ the "Sleepy Mexican" ~ leaned up against a desert saquaro ~ Beautiful colours in this artwork ~ turquoise, blue, green, red, gold and orange against a beautiful night-time background with just a sliver of a moon and a scattering of stars. Plenty enough gorgeous colours to go with any color scheme in your casa! (also I have a "Sleepy Mexican" senorita on ebay this week which would make a nice complement to this piece!)
This is a great piece of Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art for decorating your home ~ or office work place ~ or Mexican Restaurant!! If you haven't yet started a collection of Mexican Folk Art & Retablos what a perfect time to start ~ the investment you make in folk art today will surely increase in value with time!
This painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN (tin is a popular "canvas" to paint on in Old Mexico) and this adds much to its charm and folk artsy appeal! Also, this piece, which is approx. 7" x 6", has been finished with a non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are two holes punched in the top and a copper wire hanger attached so that it can be displayed and immediately enjoyed once you receive it! The front of this painting is signed by the artist and the back is signed, titled, and dated (2009).

This tin looks great by itself ~ or in a collection!
Also, what a wonderful gift idea ~ think Christmas!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist ~ RoMy ~ that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ a few miles from Terlingua Ghost Town and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande River, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)

I enjoyed the visit ~ Muchos Gracias! And, please, while you are here take a moment to
