Tree of Life-Virgen de Guadalupe-Retablo-Mexican Folk Art-RoMy-Paintings-Painting-Original Artwork-Old Mexico Border-Terlingua Art Studio Texas

My items on eBay
Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art ~ RoMy Original Tiny Tin (TM)
Title: Tree of Life ~ Virgen de Guadalupe ~ Retablo
Size: 7" x 6 1/2" (painted on thin tin ~ hole punched ~ hanger attached)
Hola! Muchos Gracias for stopping by my Terlingua Art Studio near Terlingua Ghost Town & Big Bend National Park (Texas) along the border of Old Mexico! For your consideration today I am offering this original retablo:
DESCRIPTION
A whimsical little painting of the Tree of Life & the Virgen de Guadalupe! Beautiful colours in this artwork ~ gold, yellow, turquoise, blue, red, and orange against a lavender background. The tree is full of pretty flowers and the Lady of Guadalupe is centered in the trunk of the tree and two red birds are resting by her side. Enough gorgeous colours to go with any color scheme in your casa!
I particularly enjoy painting the Tree of Life ~ according to Proverbs: Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a Tree of Life. Perhaps this retablo will help inspire hope in you ~ or someone you know ~ until the desires of your heart are indeed fulfilled!
This is a great piece of Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art for decorating your home ~ or office work place! If you haven't yet started a collection of Mexican Folk Art & Retablos what a perfect time to start ~ the investment you make in folk art today will surely increase in value with time!
ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This Mexican folk art painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN which makes it especially charming & folk artsy (tin is a most popular medium to paint on in Old Mexico) plus its durability makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor decorating such as a backporch or patio area. Also, this piece, which is 7" x 6 1/2", has been finished with several coats of non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are already two holes punched in the top and it comes with a copper wire hanger so that it can be immediately displayed & enjoyed as quickly as you receive it! The back of this painting is signed by the artist, titled and dated (2009).
This RoMy Original Tiny Tin (TM) is small but sweet ~ simply "feel good" art! These tins look fabulous displayed alone but even better in groups across your wall! (just as they decorate their casa in Old Mexico!)
Also these make a wonderful gift!!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist ~ RoMy ~ that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ a few miles from Terlingua Ghost Town ~ and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)
I enjoyed the visit ~ Gracias! And, please, while you are here take a moment to
Presently, at eBay auction I have several paintings of various sizes painted on tin, canvas, wood and ceramic tile.

Title: La Monja Colorida (The Colourful Nun)
Size: 40"x32" ~ AWESOME SIZE PAINTING!!!

DESCRIPTION
"La Monja Colorida" (The Colourful Nun) is a most unique painting! There are many nuns here at this mission in Old Mexico ~ but only the one whimsical little nun "Lydia" ~ dares to express herself with bold, beautiful colours from the bountiful palette of her Higher Power ~ The One Great Original Artist of All.
Lydia is dressed in lovely shades of purple and red, and tiny flowers are embroidered around her neck and hemline. In her hands is a small Talavera cross. And be sure and notice the little red shoes on her feet! Next to Lydia is Rafael ~ her pet burro. And all around the mission there are always lots of black crows! The mission is topped with a black cross and in the background is a vibrant yellow sun tinged with gold. This mission is a wonderful blend of colours and the desert landscape is dotted with agave and ocotillo.

This is a VERY LARGE work of art that will spendidly decorate any wall on which it is placed ~ whether it is in your home or place of work. This special piece is a great opportunity for the right buyer to add to his or her collection of Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art! And what a perfect time to start a collection (if you haven't already) as Mexican Folk Art is quite popular now ~ and increasing in value with time.

This premier frame (which is also cross braced) has sturdy, precisely tailored corners and the canvas is tight with clean, staple-free edges ~ this piece can be beautifully displayed framed or frameless. There is a hanger on the back - when you receive this artwork all you need to do is place it in your special area! Also, this piece has been finished with a non-yellowing acrylic varnish to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come.
