Chicks on a Limb~Chickens~Tree~FoLk ArT~RoMy Painting

Hola ~ It's a great morning here in the Big Bend National Park area in Texas ~ a bit of cool in the air ~ a welcome relief! High temp today of around 101 ~ Fall is on its way! Our summers here are very hot with average temps around 110-115 but August is when the temp starts to go the other way ~ down the scale ~ and can actually be a cooler month here than in other parts of the country. The weather channel always talks about the heat in Phoenix ~ but forgets that Presidio, Texas holds the record for being the hottest spot in the U.S. I often wonder how the folks all those years ago before we had electricity & air conditioning ever survived the summer heat here ~ or anywhere for that matter! But I believe it's because they had nothing to compare it to ~ it's just the way it was....

I'm so glad you dropped by today & please before leaving take a moment to look at my latest painting titled "Chicks on a Limb"

Have a wonderful day & I hope to see you again soon! RoMy

Artist quote for the day: They leaned toward the honest and explicit in art, a picture, for instance, that told its own story, with generous assistance from its title. -- H.H. Munro ("Saki")

The tree is full of pretty flowers and the Lady of Guadalupe is centered in the trunk of the tree and two red birds are resting by her side. Enough gorgeous colours to go with any color scheme in your casa!
I particularly enjoy painting the Tree of Life ~ according to Proverbs: Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a Tree of Life. Perhaps this retablo will help inspire hope in you ~ or someone you know ~ until the desires of your heart are indeed fulfilled!

ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This Mexican folk art painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN which makes it especially charming & folk artsy (tin is a most popular medium to paint on in Old Mexico) plus its durability makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor decorating such as a backporch or patio area. Also, this piece, which is 7" x 6 1/2", has been finished with several coats of non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are already two holes punched in the top and it comes with a copper wire hanger so that it can be immediately displayed & enjoyed as quickly as you receive it! The back of this painting is signed by the artist, titled and dated (2009).
This RoMy Original Tiny Tin (TM) is small but sweet ~ simply "feel good" art! These tins look fabulous displayed alone but even better in groups across your wall! (just as they decorate their casa in Old Mexico!)
Also these make a wonderful gift!!

Saint Francis Mexican Retablo-Handpainted on Ceramic Tile-Wooden Display Stand-Mexican Folk Art-RoMy-Terlingua Art Studio

This is my latest Saint Francis Retablo - the Patron of Animals and Peace. I always love to paint this particular Saint - I enjoy using different animals in each painting - and most often I paint St. Francis on a piece of tin, sometimes on canvas, but this particular one is on a glazed ceramic tile. It comes with a wooden display stand - or you could bond him to a wall in your casa! If you are interested in purchasing this piece of Mexican Folk Art and to see more of my original paintings please follow this link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=150337000482
