Mexican Folk Art-RoMy-Painting-Paintings-"Where's the Tortillas?"-Original-Terlingua Art Studio-Artist-Southwest Collectibles-Collectible

Hola! Muchos Gracias for stopping by my Terlingua Art Studio near Big Bend National Park & Terlingua Ghost Town on the border of Old Mexico! I hope everyone's havin' a great morning! It's beautiful here right now ~ the sun is just topping the Chisos (Ghost) Mountains and shining on Santa Elena Canyon and the canyon walls are gorgeous shades of coral pink and gold! So far the morning is wonderfully cool but it's gonna hit 101 degrees today!

As I'm typing this I'm also watching the cutest four rabbits play a game of chase in the arroyo! My cat enjoys watching the rabbits, too! Every morning Diamond (my cat) is in the windowsill watching rabbits before the sun is even up!

Last night I posted a new painting on eBay titled, "Sacred Heart" and later today I'll be posting a colourful gayo (rooster). Also this link will show you "Where's the Beans?" if you're curious to have a looksy....

Everyone have a fabulous day!

Country Life ~ Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art ~ RoMy ORIGINAL TINY TIN (TM)

Title: "Loves Her Beans"

Size: 6 1/2" x 5 1/4" (painted on thin tin ~ hole already punched ~ ready to hang!)

DESCRIPTION

This mother is happy because she thinks her daughter "Loves her beans!" But the daughter seems to be asking, "Where's the tortillas?!" ~ Sometimes it's just tough gettin' it all together!!

Lots of beautiful colours in this piece ~ turquoise-blue, gold, red, and pink. A great piece of folk art which would be really nice in a kitchen! (And because it's painted on tin ~ if cooking splatters get on it they can be easily wiped off and no harm done!)

This painting will add a charming touch to any home!

ABOUT THIS PAINTING

This Southwest/Mexican folk art painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN, which makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor decorating such as a backporch or patio area. Also, this piece, which is 6 1/2" x 5 1/4", has been finished with a non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are already two holes punched in the top and it comes with a gold-toned hanger so that it can be immediately enjoyed once you receive it! The back of this painting is signed by the artist, titled, and dated (2009).

This RoMy ORIGINAL TINY TIN (TM) is small but sweet ~ simply "feel good" art! And highly collectible! A collection of these will look wonderful on any wall ~ or hooked over the knob on a cupboard door ~ or remove the hanger if you like and place them on a windowsill, a bookshelf, a fireplace mantle ~ just let your imagination guide you!

Also, a RoMy ORIGINAL TINY TIN (TM) makes a fabulous gift!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

The artist ~ RoMy ~ that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande River, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)

I enjoyed the visit ~ Gracias! And, please, while you are here take a moment to

Title: La Monja Colorida (The Colourful Nun)
Size: 40"x32" ~ AWESOME SIZE PAINTING!!!

DESCRIPTION
"La Monja Colorida" (The Colourful Nun) is a most unique painting! There are many nuns here at this mission in Old Mexico ~ but only the one whimsical little nun "Lydia" ~ dares to express herself with bold, beautiful colours from the bountiful palette of her Higher Power ~ The One Great Original Artist of All.
Lydia is dressed in lovely shades of purple and red, and tiny flowers are embroidered around her neck and hemline. In her hands is a small Talavera cross. And be sure and notice the little red shoes on her feet! Next to Lydia is Rafael ~ her pet burro. And all around the mission there are always lots of black crows! The mission is topped with a black cross and in the background is a vibrant yellow sun tinged with gold. This mission is a wonderful blend of colours and the desert landscape is dotted with agave and ocotillo.

This is a VERY LARGE work of art that will spendidly decorate any wall on which it is placed ~ whether it is in your home or place of work. This special piece is a great opportunity for the right buyer to add to his or her collection of Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art! And what a perfect time to start a collection (if you haven't already) as Mexican Folk Art is quite popular now ~ and increasing in value with time.
Please Note: My camera did not do this piece justice!

ABOUT THIS PIECE
This Mexican Folk Art painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on gallery-wrapped, professionally stretched canvas measuring 40" x 32". This premier frame (which is also cross braced) has sturdy, precisely tailored corners and the canvas is tight with clean, staple-free edges ~ this piece can be beautifully displayed framed or frameless. There is a hanger on the back - when you receive this artwork all you need to do is place it in your special area! Also, this piece has been finished with a non-yellowing acrylic varnish to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come.

The front of this painting is signed by the artist and the back is also signed, dated (2009) and titled. By the way the artist "Romy" - that's me!
