DESCRIPTION
This very colourful and whimsical painting of a Mexican Tree of Life has a peaceful aura that will surely create a special atmosphere of tranquillity in any casa in which it may be placed. A charming collectible piece of Mexican Folk Art that will add an extra special touch to the decor of any casa (home)! Or office workplace! The Mexican Tree of Life is one of my favourite pieces of artwork as it is a reminder that we are rooted in, grounded in, and connected to the Source from which we all came ~ Love!
The colours in this piece are truly stunning! All the flowers and dove are painted in lovely shades of pink, purple, red, blue, turquoise, green and just a touch of gold!
ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This Mexican folk art painting is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN which makes it especially charming & very folk artsy (tin is a really popular medium to paint on in Old Mexico) plus its durability makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor decorating such as a backporch or patio area. Also, this piece, which is 6" x 5", has been finished with a non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are already two holes punched in the top and it comes with a gold-colored wire hanger so that it can be immediately displayed once you receive it! The back of this painting is signed by the artist and dated (2009).
This RoMy Original Tiny Tin is small but sweet ~ simply "feel good" art! These highly collectible pieces of folk art look great displayed alone ~ or grouped in a special area on your wall!

ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist ~ RoMy ~ that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ a few miles from Terlingua Ghost Town ~ and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande River, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)

Presently, I have several paintings (on canvas) and more than one RoMy ORIGINAL TINY TIN (TM) at auction ~ several of kitty cats with rabbits and baby dolls! I also have a "San Pasqual Bailon" the kitchen saint who is blessing all the vegetables for the cook, a "Sundance" colourful Mexican tom cat, a "Wash Day" with lingerie, women's blouses and skirts drying on the clothes line, "One Spirit" with a Mexican cowgirl feeding her horse a handful of hay, a "Cowgirl Wanna-be" is a cute gal in pink cowgirl (cowboy) boots riding a wild pig, a "Tree of Life," a "Saint Therese Lisieux" retablo, an "Angel of Unconditional Love & Freedom," a "Desert Moon Angel," a "Desert Solo," and a "Virgen de Guadalupe" retablo, and a La Catrina painting titled, "My Way!" I have a great pair of unique Day of the Dead ~ Dia de los Muertos ~ earrings. And a Frida Kahlo Angel clay pot with a tiny lid to hold all your wishes till they come true! There are several nice floral paintings, "Mexico Colour," "Mexican Sunflower," "Simple Charm" with daisies and violets, "Scent of Spring," and "Big Bend Texas Bluebonnets." I also have a Mercado Dia ~ Market Day ~ with lots of Mexican Talavera pottery for sale in a village in Old Mexico, another "Mercado" with a senorita taking her prized pineapples to sell at market, a retablo dedicated to Saint Therese Lisieux, a retablo dedicated to Saint Francis (St. Francis patron of peace and animals) with a red fox, a sheep, a rabbit and lots of dove, another Saint Francis with lambs and dove painted on a ceramic tile which comes with a wooden display stand of its own, and a Virgen de Guadalupe ex-voto retablo. "Santa Fe Spirit" has beautiful mountains in colours of red, purple, blue, turquoise and gold and adobe buildings. "La Mision" has a pretty red-haired senorita on a mission all her own. "Desert Serenade" has a gold coyote, a pink moon, and another pretty senorita. And if you are looking for a HUGE piece of art don't miss the "Colourful Nun," "Colonia Colorida," and the "Cactus Sunrise" which all measure 40" x 32"!! I will be adding other paintings soon as well as more pieces of Mexican Folk Art Jewelry! All fabulous pieces to add to your collection of Mexican Folk Art!
