This is a very whimsical painting of a little cowgirl "wanna-be"! She is giving her all as she whoops and rides this really wild & wooly pig!
Lots of beautiful colours in this piece ~ turquoise-green, gold, red, blue. This little cowgirl ~ she's so gutsy! ~ is wearing lovely pink cowgirl boots and a matching bandana. There is a sliver of a pink moon and stars, too! A darling piece of southwestern folk art!
This painting is a must have for any lover of cowgirl art! And it will add a charming touch of the Wild West to any home! Or office workplace! And what a great addition to the rest of your collection of Southwest ~ Mexico Folk Art!
ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This is an ORIGINAL work of art, brightly painted with acrylics on a piece of thin TIN which makes it especially charming and very folk artsy! (tin is a most popular form of "canvas" to paint on in Old Mexico) ~ Also, this piece, which is 8" x 6 1/4", has been finished with several coats of non-yellowing acrylic enamel to protect and enhance its beauty for years to come. There are already two holes punched in the top and it comes with a gold-toned hanger so that it can be immediately enjoyed once you receive it! The back of this painting is signed by the artist, titled, and dated (2009).
This painting will look great displayed alone ~ or in your collection of Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art! Also, what a fabulous gift idea!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist ~ RoMy ~ that's me! I live on the border between Texas and Mexico ~ near the Big Bend National Park ~ a few miles from Terlingua Ghost Town ~ and I love the history and culture of this area ~ a raw, still quite primitive land ~ a desert land where "rainbows wait for rain." The last few photos in this description show my outdoor studio which faces Santa Elena Canyon and the Rio Grande, the natural border between Old Mexico and Texas ~ and it is from this primitive setting ~ 80 miles from town ~ that I find most of my inspiration for painting. (in the photos Mexico is on the left side of the river and Texas is on the right)
I enjoyed the visit ~ Gracias! And, please, while you are here take a moment to
